On June 6 an online press-conference was held at TASS on the occasion of the World Environment Day (June 5); it was dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of UNEP in 2022.

The initiatives and events related to the UNEP 50th Anniversary were presented by the Chairman of the Central Council of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Nature Viacheslav Fetisov, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Amirkhan Amirkhanov, Director of the Liaison Office with the Russian Federation, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Oleg Kobyakov, Head of the UN Environment Program (UNEP) in the Russian Federation Vladimir Moshkalo, Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow Vladimir Kuznetsov, , Head of the Environmental Affairs Section Department of International Organizations Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Uskov and Director of Science, Society and Sustainable Future of the 2018-2021 UN Convention on Biological Diversity Secretariat Alexander Shestakov.
